Wow this is painfull, but now I got the mail going on the move again. I have moved all my old arcives of my mailling lists, inbox and old inbox. Next I have to move my “People” folders, the I will have to see if it is posable to move my contacts. I hold out no hope to move the filters, since instead of a file they are stored in the windows registry (boo hiss). Oh well I will just have to rebuild the filters, but that should not be to hard. What I like about ehostpros, is that you can setup spam filters on the server side, so the spam does not get to me at all.

Well lookout, is not letting me finish moving my mail. I has stoped copying my email to my imap server. I guess it might have figured out that I am not going to use lookout, and you know how MS, is, lock the user out of leaving if posable. Well I will get my email out of lookout if it is the last thing I do! I got about 40% of my mail off of lookout so far, so I should be finished in the next few days, if all goes well.

I am moving my mail from the old lookout program to evolution. I could not get any method of converting the mail to work, so now I am using my imap server I have access to, to put the mail on it, and copy it down to the evolution program. It will be worth it once the mail is finaly moved over. I think evolution is a better program then all the other ones out there, so I will use it. It could be another late night for since I have about 3 years of email arcived in my mail history. The upload is the slow part, the download is ok, not the greatest but it is ok.

Well I started the net install at 1:30am, and it did not finish till 11:30 am. I took out my DSL speed for 10 hours. Well at lest I slept for most of the install. But it got done, and it looks ok, I just have to configure the interface to my personal settings, so I can feel right at home when ever I sit down at the computer. I will be moving my email over to the linux box also.

This is going to be painfull to my bandwidth, but I tried to get Fedora Core 2 installed on my new computer. The burn a friend of mine did for me just would not work, don’t know what is so borked about it but it will not pass the md5sum check. So I am doing a net install of it. So my bandwidth is going to be dead for the next few hours. But if it works it just might be worth it.

Today was a nice day to go biking, I went with some friends, and a friend of theirs from Milwaukee. We biked for about 3 hours, then ended up in the south side for some lunch, the I biked on home, for a total of 3.5 hours of biking for me, I have not gotten a chance to go biking for that amount of time in a few weeks, it felt great to get back out on the trials. If you look in my photo section you can see the new pictures I have just added from today’s biking trip.

The Jerks over at wplug

Ok I have a few friends in wplug, not all of them are jerks. My friends have said over the last few years that things have gotten better at wplug. So ok I trusted my friends on that one. So tonight I go into the chat room for wplug. Well we were talking about money stuff, and well we did not agree, ok cool who cares, but I though I had something I could think about. But they then go on to insult my patents, who they have never meet. So when they did that I basically tell them to go **** themselves and promptly left. And decided that since they could not have respect for some one they have not meet their thoughts are automatically trashed and purged from my mind. Well it looks like they have not improved over at wplug, it is just as bad as it was before, if not worse, since if you disagree with them on something your parents are automatically in their statements bad parents!! well they can have their little wplug, I will not be going again!! Maybe I should have handled it a bit differently and I should not have sworn at them, but I was just so infuriated. I love my mom, and I do not like it when people insult her, you can insult me all you want, but just don’t insult my mother.

Boy do the makers of slackware make it ever hard to get a copy of slackware, it took me about an hour before I went to the slackware chate room on the freenode irc servers, to ask for where I could get one, so now I am killing my bandwidth downloading 2 ISO’s right now. But in 2 maybe 3 hours I will have the slackware ISO to burn to CD for when the gateway gets here.

More computer stuff

Well the question now is I want to move all my music and Pictures from my iBook to the eMac when it comes, I just wish I did not have to want till the eMac comes, but I think I figured out how to move the music. I found the XML for the Music and the Photos. I think I have the answers; I will not be deleting the data off of the iBook till I am sure that I got the data transported to the new computer safely. I am wondering if I should just do it over a network or copy all the data to my fire wire drive and copy it to the eMac when it comes. This will take some playing with to get it to go, but I believe the answer to copy the raw data files and the XML files and it should work I think. Well as long I keep the data on my iBook I will not have to worry about how to do it. But it looks like I will have to want 10 days till I can try it.

And with the Linux stuff I am playing around to see if I can get my mail files imported to evolution, a good mail client for Linux. If I can do that, I will have that good mail client back. That will put the old Gateway laptop with XP on it, to only Quicken and Palm pilot stuff. Each system in my place will have a job, and a job for each system. Well at lest I will be able to play with a full network with each of the main OS’es on it in my place.

That last post I did was the 50th post for this web site, cool. This post is post 51. I cannot believe I have done that many posts in such a short time. What am I doing at this time? I have Lord of the Rings on and the fight scene in the mount is on. No music is Playing; I am cleaning up my workspace and rearranging it. So this is post 51 🙂 Well here is to another 50 posts. Ok so this is not one of my better posts. Well for now I would love to send out a congrates to my friend John Parker, for getting a job in CASOS. I still want to know what project he will be working on, but it is nice that he got a job in CASOS.

So I have decided that I would like to get some more computers (2) My mother also said that if I want to buy a house in 2 years I should let some debt ride a bit, so I got an eMac (a cheap but good computer) and a cheap but reasonable gateway computer. The eMac probably will be my main computer. The Gateway will probably be a Linux server to play with. So they should come soon. I have spent part of the night rearranging my work area. So now I have the space for it. It is now obvious to me that I will need to get a bigger place in Dec when my lease is up. Now I have to figure out which version of Linux I wish to use, or maybe I will take the advice of my friend, Mike K., and put BSD on it, a real Unix. As much as I love Linux, it still is not a Unix system; it is only a Unix work alike system. Plus it will be nice that when I am at home I can do my work at the same speed I can do it at work. The nice thing is I am going to see if I can make the program I am working on work under Linux. If not I can still work off of my work laptop, or my gateway windows laptop.

I got this in my inbox today, so much for free speach, I guess it is only free speach for the liberals only.

Connecticut State Police arrest one Christian for video taping harassment
and make two other Christians leave the State.

On Thursday, July 29, a Connecticut State Police Officer pulled over LLM’s
Truth Truck as it was traveling through the State following a five day
ministry effort in Boston.

At approximately 3:30PM, an angry Officer pulled the truck over and asked
for Dennis Green, the driver and Director of Life and Liberty Ministries, to
come to the rear of the vehicle. The Officer stated that the vehicle could
not drive any further in the State until the pro-life messages were removed
from the truck. Dennis Green informed him that the truck would remain as it
was and proceeded to inform the Officer with regard to his First Amendment
rights.

The Officer then began to fish for any reason to charge Mr. Green. He
brought up the issue of seat belts and said that the occupants weren’t
wearing them when in fact they were. Another Officer arrived on the scene
and also began to verbally attack Mr. Green with regard to the messages and
images on the vehicle.

When the driver was told that he was going to be charged with a crime, he
immediately asked for a Supervisor to be called to the scene. The Officers
refused repeatedly to yield to this request. At this point Dennis Green and
one of the passengers, Michael Marcavage, called 911 to make a request for
help. Mr. Marcavage began to film the incident from the opposite side of
the guard rail and at the distance of approximately 25 feet.

The Officers immediately began yelling for him to turn off the camera and
reenter the vehicle. Mr. Marcavage slowing began to retreat toward the
vehicle while asking if Mr. Green could do the same. He made this request
because the Officers were detaining Mr. Green behind the truck were he could
not be seen.

The Officers climbed over the rail and placed Mr. Marcavage under arrest
charging him with two crimes including a felony charge.

After Mr Marcavage was taken away, Mr. Green was ordered to get back into
his vehicle and began driving South bound until he was out of the State. He
was instructed that he would be followed and he was not to stop or take any
exits.

During the time that Mr. Marcavage was in Police custody, he was repeatedly
mocked and ridiculed for his Christian faith. Mr. Marcavage was called a
Jesus Freak, a wing nut, brain washed, a scam artist, and many other
derogatory terms.

The American Center for Law and Policy will be defending us in Court.

It been a long time since I took a collage class. Last time I was in a collage class was just before I graduated in April of 2001 from Pitt. Well I am going to be able to take a class this commingle semester at CMU. You see I work at CMU and one of the benefits is that I can take classes, so I am signing up for a class. I am looking forward to it. The only difference this time with the class, is that it is a career oriented class, instead of 1) oh that looks fun or 2) I have to get this done for a requirement. Also this class really does not get me to a goal in life. I am taking it so I can better understand social network theory. One thing I would love to do in the furture semester is take some CS grad level classes, then at a later date (probably 2 years done the line) use those to get into some CS grad school.

I don’t like all nighters, I pulled one to get on small bug out of the code, and found that a new feature I was putting in, and thought was safe to put it at the time, since I though the exe was done, started to cause trouble, so I tried to forge ahead and finish up the feature, but by 11am I decide that the feature would not get done, so I 1/2 comment it out. I put it between a #ifdef IDENTIFIER and a #endif so when I go back all I have to do is do a #define IDENTIFIER. It got done, I got home at 2 and passed out at 2:30 and slept till 9am today.
