Back in 2004 I started my blog. But I did not start reading other’s blogs until this year. I am going to list the blogs that I started to read on a regular basis this year. Rob over at Unspace Pastor Stiegemeyer from Concordia Lutheran Church Power Ball’s blog WA3FKG’s (Ken’s) blog, a fellow Ham[…]
I turned off the trackbacks to try to stop the spam here, but they have just moved to the comments. I woke up this morning to find that I had 110 spam comments. Looking at the logs from the web server I see that was 1/4 of the spam attempts the 404’s listed in the[…]
Well I tried to see if I could reinable trackbacks here, but the spammers have made it 100% clear that trackbacks on the internet now are a bad idea. So I have again disabled trackbacks on my blog, never to be reinabled again.
I am going to try to add the trackbacks to my blog again, I have put the file back to its original name. This is only a short term test, if I get over loaded with spam I will remove trackbacks again.
Due to the excise spam (over 1000 a day) I have disabled the trackback here. My site is not a place for people to try to advertise their porn sites, so I have removed trackbacks from this site until further notice. I know I will have 1000’s of 404’s in my error log, but I[…]
Sorry about not updating my blog for a few days, but I have had other things I had to attend to. But I am now back to updating the blog.
Well I should have known this would have happened when I changed the web address space that the spam bots would see my blog as a new blog. Well today I had over 97 spam comments and 81 of them had unique IP address. So I now have another 81 IP address that have been[…]
I have noticed that Google has seen the new address for my blog http://blog.mikeoconnor.net and it has indexed 2 pages from the new address already. I am sure after about a week it should have discovered all the pages are now at the new address, and I hope that they flush out the old links.
The Trama podcast is now listed on the Pittsburgh Bloggers website The web master did have a nice thing to say about ham radio in the Pittsburgh area, “The Ham Radio community is thriving in Pittsburgh!” UPDATE: some one made a note, it is org not come, I have fixed that type oh.
I have now setup my blog to let normal comments go though (unless they have any HTML in them) so right now if you send a comment that does not have HTML in it should be visible after you post it. If I see any hate posts, I will delete them, also I do reserve[…]
Blogs are now starting the whole “never forget” thing for tomorrow. I recognize the impact that the attacks had on America, and no we should not push it out of our collective memory, but do we have to go though the same thing every year? I am not saying we should not have a moment[…]
The web site Pittsburgh webloggers is a great web site, for people to see what the average Pittsburgh is thinking, and get a good cross section of the population. But I have noticed something, there seams to be some idea interbreeding going on. I have seen that some stories will start on one blog, then[…]
I now have worked a bit on the site. Any trackback that comes in will go into the moderation pool so that they will not be displayed until I either approve them or copy the IP address to my banned list, and delete them. So now I put the trackback file back to its original[…]
I have found a new feature for the comments on my blog, if you hit the Enter key in your comment, it will now be displayed on your comment so you can now format your comments so that you can have paragraphs (I know of only 2 people who post here that might make us[…]
I just got the latest version of the bBlog software and installed it on my site, it all looks fine. I have kept my modifications that I have made to my site, so you the users/readers should not see any changes. The changes are mainly on the admin side of the site. I don’t really[…]
