Well the eMac has come and I have setup it up. It did a great job of getting all my files off of the iBook, even the setting and program files came over. So I went ahead and deleted all the music and photos off of the iBook to save some hard disk room on the iBook. I have the screen set to a resolution of 1280×1024, it look so good to me. The only problem I am facing now is where to put the last computer when it finally gets here from gateway. Well for now if you want you can see a picture of my current setup

Now is that not a great setup for now, from left to right are the following OS’es Linux, Mac OS X, Mac OS X, Windows, Windows. The second to the last box is not really mine, it belongs to CMU, but I bring it home to do work. The last box is for the palm pilot, talking with Trish on YM, and Quicken. I am thinking Linux or BSD on the gateway when it comes, unless I find something (or hear of/ or read in my comments) of something that catches my fancy.

It is done, all the mail and all the contacts are now in evolution. The mail is moved. The only thing left on the windows box is quicken stuff, and games (which I don’t play many of.) The question now is when the other intel comes in should I let it stay windows (since it a pre-built one it will have windows installed) or should I put another linux on it, or should I play with a new OS. I am strongly leaning to a new OS. And let my only windows box be the laptop, I don’t need more then one windows box.

Ok so this is going on too long, but the good news is that all the email is now off of lookout. And most of it has been moved from the imap account onto my new Linux box. Now all I have to do is figure out how to get the contacts out of outlook, or how to replicate all my contacts to evolution. For that last task I think I might be able to use the palm pilot, or palm desktop to get a better copy of all this data.

Well lookout, is not letting me finish moving my mail. I has stoped copying my email to my imap server. I guess it might have figured out that I am not going to use lookout, and you know how MS, is, lock the user out of leaving if posable. Well I will get my email out of lookout if it is the last thing I do! I got about 40% of my mail off of lookout so far, so I should be finished in the next few days, if all goes well.

Well I started the net install at 1:30am, and it did not finish till 11:30 am. I took out my DSL speed for 10 hours. Well at lest I slept for most of the install. But it got done, and it looks ok, I just have to configure the interface to my personal settings, so I can feel right at home when ever I sit down at the computer. I will be moving my email over to the linux box also.
