Palm Pilot

I finally did it, My palm died 3 weeks ago and I have been forgetting things left and right, I am going to get the old one fixed, but that is going to take a while, so I went out and got the Tungsten T3. When the T2 comes back I will keep it for backup. But I am now thinking can I get a blogging software for the Palm Pilot. The Palm has Bluetooth and so does my cell phone, and I get unlimited data, so I can hit the net anywhere I can get cell signal. Which in theory means I could post from anywhere (if there is good software for it) I am not so cheap that it has to be free I am willing to pay for it if it is good software.

But the T3 is a nice device, lots of room in memory to work with, not so sure I like the virtual graffiti area. But the landscape mode is nice for the web browsing on the device. Software updates I like is that they finally added categories to the date book, I do not like the agenda view, of course I been using palm pilots since 2000 and so use to the day view that it could just be inertia that keeps me at the day view of the calamities.

Why do spammers think they can get away with spamming every place they see. I had to delete 2 comments that were spam, one was for spam for a sex site. SPAMMERS this site if rated PG (maybe PG-13 at the most) I don’t want to see X rated stuff posted here. I guess I am going to have to keep an eye on the posts here. I welcome posts but, I don’t want spam, and I feel that censorship is OK, so if I see a spam post I will be deleting it.

Ok so I found a new program to add entries to my blog. One feature of it (this is for you Trish) it has a built in spell checker. So lets see how it goes, and if anything good can come of it, also the last question is does any one really care about my blog??? Maybe I do some entries with pictures I have taken as of late.

Well today we found it took 7 Lutherans, one being one of my Pastors. How you might ask, well I locked my keys in my car (ok so I had an id10t moment). Well it took seven of us to get in, and 2 hours. We used 2 coat hangers and 2 crowbars!! I am just glad that the car was on, or this would not have worked, we finally decided instead of unlocking the car with the coat hangers, we would open the window. So with me creating a gap between the car frame and the door with the 2 crowbars, pastor pushes the coat hanger to the window control, and opens the window, ya we get in.

So the short answer is 7, with 2 hours, 2 coat hangers, and 2 crowbars.

Hay I learned a new (useless) skill today. 😉

The Elections this year

And I am not referring to the prez of the US. I am talking about the prez of the LCMS. The bad news is that the liberals won almost all of the positions :-(. Well lets see what happens now. I would love to have seen the confessional Lutherans win, and take the Synod back to where it should be, The Lutheran Confessions. Oh well, maybe next year if things do not go to far down hill.

House Warmings and Blessings

I spent the day going from 1 house to the next. I attended 2 house warming, 1 house blessing, and the birthday of a child of a family in the parish. so you don’t think I went to 4 homes, it was only 2. the first was a house blessing and a house warming, the next was to be house warming, the child’s 1st birthday and a house blessing, but Kathy got sick so we did not do the blessing. So it was a long day (see my other post coming up for the humor today)

Any one reading this blog, know about good web design, I am going to see if I can redo a new site for my church. (www.FirstTrinity.net) I am a programmer, and don’t think much of users. Hell I think bash is the greatest UI there is, so you know where I am thinking for web design, hell look at the rest of my site ;-). And suggestions and pointers to links would be appreciated. I will probably do some work in it tomorrow after we get home from Idlewild, I also have to get the new calendar up.

Tomorrow might be fun; our church is having a Parish day out at Idlewild. Pastor got a discount for us. so it was only $15 for the ticks. I will be leaving and following pastor out, I will need to get to bed tonight by 8 if I want to get up in time. This is an hour before I usually try to get to bed. (I usually try to get to bed by 9 now, so I can get up at 5 and to work by 6, that gets me out of work at 2, I get to bike around more with that new free time, and a nine there is no sun so no need to stay up)

Well at work my boss has to demo my program VISTA on the 15 or 17 I am not sure exactly when, but I should have a copy to her by the 13 at the drop dead latest, I am hoping for tomorrow to have a good copy for her, I am just trying to work out all the possible bugs I can find. This time around, I have some one over at Aptima trying to work with my program, this is good, and if there is a bug I missed she is sure to find it. I do still love debugging, but right now the debugging is the easy 5 minutes stuff. But I guess that is good, that means this close to the deadline I don’t have massive bugs to work out.

Bike unfriendly Pittsburgh

So I try to go to the point today to watch the fire works, well get this bikes are not allowed on the bike path, also when I went to walk it down, I was told by a police officer I could not even walked it down to the point, apparently bikes are just plan illegal there on the bike path, well I was not going to leave it locked up in the dark in Pittsburgh (can you say stolen bike) so I went to the north shore to watch the fireworks. The only justice is that I probably got home before the people that were driving, I probably got home before they got on the highways, the city was almost grid locked.

Well today I went biking again. Well today Pittsburgh decided to close down the bike path at the point for the Regatta. The police said I was not even allowed to walk my bike though the point. And when I look at going down to the point they were charging to get in today because of the Regatta, well needless to say I am pissed about that, my tax money pays for the point and for the Regatta why the hell do I have to pay to get into something I have already paid for. Well I went on over to the North Shore, and watched the Regatta from there for a bit, even for the price of $1 it was over priced!! So I biked down the north shore path to Millville, stopped at a kawaka shop, I am thinking I might want to get one, but I will have to figure out some stuff, my pastor said I would need to find a storage place. He said it would be cool if I could find a place that rented storage near the river. The reason that he gave was good, I could then just bike down and kawaka from there. Well for now that is it, I have not eaten since breakfast and I am hungry so I am going to go scare up some food.

Ok here it is 2:06am and I am still working on my web site, this time I am downloading the whole thing to my Mac, so I have a back up. Since I have not really had a copy of it on my Mac. I am going to start to do the work on the web site on the Mac. I am going to drop the work I done on it from windows. So here I site as I pull the site down from the servers so I can edit one file, but at lest now I will have the data here. I still have to get the stuff for the Biking page going; right now all I have is the pics up there. I should put a real page there. I wish I could find a nice Mac web editor program.

Heck it is late the download does not need me to baby-sit it, and I can update that file tomorrow. So it is off to bed for me, umm sleep good.

Well what does this world need, another Blog. Well for a while I was doing this over at slashdot.org but wanted more control over it, so here I am putting a blog on my web site. So here it is. Well for the first blog I have allot to put here. First I finally put up the money to buy some web hosting (thanks to the kind folks at www.ehostpros.com for hosting my site, give them a try if you are looking for cheap but good web hosting) Second I fixed up my web site a bit more so it is not so hard on the eyes. Third I have become the web master for the Pittsburgh Area Lutheran Schools web site, right now it is not much it is only in demo mode, but you can view it at www.PittsburghAreaLutheranSchools.org. So now I get to work on four websites, my churches web site (www.FirstTrinity.net) PALS and my own personal website. Maybe I should make my personal one better since I hope people will view it now. Forth at work we have a demo coming up on the 13th of July, oh joy of joy, I hate demos, the only good
thing about them is I get to do more debugging then normal. Ok I am an odd person I enjoy debugging. Well finally the Pittsburgh 3 rivers Regatta is coming up I think I just might bike down on the forth to watch the fireworks down at the point. The good thing is that one the way back is I probably beat all the drivers I be back home before half of them will be able to get on the highway.
