Coyotes vs Canucks Game

I just finished watching the Coyotes vs Canucks Game. A very good game the final score was Coyotes 2 and Canucks 3. The Coyotes were down by 2 at the end, when they pulled their goalie out. I never thought that it would work, but they were on a power play so they had 6 attacking to 4 defending, and they pulled a goal off, I have to say well done well done. But they just could not pull that miracle out of the hat. Gretzky did talk the ref into adding .7 of a second to the clock, I did not know what he hoped for with that, but you can not blame him, but he played the team well, the Canucks were just better tonight, but I will say it was a exciting game, more so then the Penguins game. I will have to keep an eye on both the Coyotes and Canucks.

A victory for all/BPL is dead in SWPA

The ARRL is reporting that the BPL test in the SWPA area is going to be stoped. They are citing the high cost of a full-scale BPL rollout and competition from cable and DSL service. This is good news, because BPL causes interference for both FEMA and Ham Radio. This is a great victory for any one that cares for 1) National Security, and 2) the RF spectrum.

The first hockey game is over

Score Penguins 1, Devils 5. I will have to say that the Devils Goalie is good, keep an eye on him. And Mario, you should not be on the ice, you were a great player, but you have slowed with age, you have no business on the ice, you are hurting the team, you would do better as a couch, but you do not belong on the ice anymore the glory days are over, move on.

It is between the first and second periods: Penguins vs Devils

Score is Penguins 0 and Devils 2. It is a good game, as much as pains me to say this, the Devils are playing (at this time) better then the Penguins. The first score of the game was made by the Devils #18 (Sergei Brylin) was a great back handed goal. There was a good attempt by the Penguins later on in the period, but it was a weak shot and I don’t think the Penguins deserved the goal. It is shaping up to be a good rest of the game, I am not saying the Penguins are playing bad, they are playing well, but the Devils are just playing a bit better as of what I have seen.
And what the heck is this they made two lines passes legal!!! What the heck for? Also why did they drop the second and more overtime periods?? And a 4-on4 shoot out what the heck is that, I hope I never have to find out.

Well tonight is the season openers. I will watch the Penns game. Also if the NHL Center Ice from Comcast is working tonight I will also watch the Colorado vs. Edmonton game too. I probably will miss the first part of the second game, but I don’t want to flip away from the Penns game when it is still on.

My Final review of the Ohio Linux Fest

Here is my final review of the Ohio Linux Fest. I went to 3.5 talks. One talk I was not interested in so I left half way though it, it was a good talk I just was not interested in it.

The first talk I went to was the Linux Terminal Server Project talk. For those of you who do not know what that project is, here is a quick over view. The people working on it, are setting up a way that you can put some computer from over a network and run all the programs from all over the network, using the built in network power of X windows. The person that gave the talk also showed off a thin client that his company was working on. The thin client he had booted in less then 10 seconds, that is from start up to X windows login screen. He talked about how the LTSP would be good for schools, I also think that many churches could make great use of this technology, I am going to look into the possibility of doing something like this for my church since we always get a lot of computers donated, they are not to most powerful, but we can always make use of them, this just might be yet another use for them, it also makes it easer to set them up since we almost never get any hard drives.

The next talk I went to was Beth Lynn Eicher’s talk on “Linux User Group Workshop” she talked about how to build a Linux Users group. She also got the audience involved in the talk asking about the size of each group and how they are organized. She also brought up the issue of bylaws, showing the audience the wplug’s bylaws.

The last full talk I went to was the afternoon keynote. This was given by one of the people from Novell. It was a good talk; he gave a bit of a road map of what Novell was doing with SuSi Linux. It was a good talk; it looks like Novell is putting a lot on the line with how they are pushing Linux. He covered getting Linux into the datacenters and onto the desktops. He covered the Linux Standardization projects. He went on to say that if you know what is on one distro it should be on all the others so if you site down to a Turbo Linux installation it should fell like a Red Hat install. He also talked about how Novell is going to hardware manufactures and telling them that they want Linux to be supported as a peer system, aka that when the hardware comes out that the Linux drivers will be there and that they have to be as good (if not better, his words) then the windows ones. With that he did say that Linux does need to have a standardized driver API and that they were working on that also. The long and short of it is that it was a good talk and he got a lot of applause from the audience.

I will not cover the talk I left since I did not hear the whole thing. I also hope every one that went to the after parity had a great time!!

I just checked over at ohiolinux.org and saw that the Ohio Linux fest was covered by News Forge I will admit it was a good time there (even with me cutting my finger) and I will be going next year. I will have to post more about it later, but I am still having a hard time typing, so I don’t really want to post anything to long.

I am looking forward to the hockey season this year. I will admit hockey is the only sport I like. Maybe it is partly due to the fact it was the only sport I played as a kid. Comcast has a hockey package, when I saw that I could not resist, I signed up for the hockey package, I hope I get to see alot of blood on the ice 😀

Trying to type with one finger of no use

I have been finding that typing with my finger in the current state of uselessness. I can not touch type with out that finger. Also I can not hunt and peak either because when I try to hunt and peak I start to touch type out of habit, and that starts to mess every thing up for me. I feel like my whole left hand has been cut off, since I am so use to touch typing that since I can n ot do it it has become hard for me to just type a simple message since I am trying to type in 2 different ways at the same time. Of course if I did not try to us both hands I might have different experience.

I just changed the dressing on my finger today.

I decided to take a picture of the stitches in my finger. [pic]1[/pic]. Not pretty is it? I just made an appointment with my doctor to have them removed on the 11th of this month.
