Some fun tonight
Tonight a bunch of my friends and I went out to the Church Brew works to celebrate my 30th that was yesterday.
Tried to record my Tin Whistle Practice tonight.
I tried to record my practicing, I used my palm pilot to try to record it. There was a problem as I was try to record it to the SD card, it was recording every 5th second so when I tried to play it back it was only 5 minutes long and just sounded so wrong, I will try to recording my practice tomorrow.

Due to spam I have set a limit you can only post one comment every 5 minutes. If I have to I will up that time, but for now I will test the 5 minutes rule.
My Plans for tomorrow.
Well I took tomorrow off, I planned this some time last month. I am going to sleep in tomorrow, then I will hit Matins tomorrow at church. I will probably come home and read. Why did I take tomorrow off, why would some one take a Thursday off. Well first I had 6 vacation days I have to use before the end of the year. And tomorrow is my 30th Birthday. It is a big round number, so I am going to take the day off.

Today, I asked two of my friends Terry and Rob to go with me when I went to vote, I was worried because back in 2004 moveon was doing aggressive campaigning inside the polling places, and there was almost no privacy on the new voting booths. I was glad when I went in and saw that there was no one campaigning inside the polling place this year. Thanks goes out Rob and Terry again.
An anser to Dan
Dan at Necessary Roughness asked the following question “I don’t know anything about your whistle, but one # in the key of G makes for slightly more readability than two-sharp D 🙂 Not that big a difference though.” To my Post on about transposing “A Mighty Fortress” But since I can not do table formatting in comments I will post the answer here so that I can use table tags in the answer. So here goes my answer.
Dan on the Tin Whistle, I just look at the key signature just to see how to play the C, to give idea how it works the finger is as follows.

So for me the key of D and G are just as easy as each other. and for transposing the song would look at this.

So as you can see going from the key of C to D is just upping the notes by only about one in most cases and in 2 cases only 1 1/2 step. For the key of G it would be 5 notes in 7 cases and in one case 5 1/2 steps. So for me I felt that it was just easier to go up to the key of D was best for me.
The fire up in Cabot
There was a fire up at Concordia. I wish to send my best to any one that lives there. I know one person that lives there, I am just glad he was at church today as he is every Sunday. So he was safe at our church when the problem happend. He right now is staying with friends. But I wish this did not happen, but I am glad my friend is ok.
Learned how to transpose music for my instrument today
Well today in the Music Theory course I am taking, I learned how to transpose music when it comes to my Instrument (the Tin Whistle) Which can only play stuff in the key signature of D major, G major, E minor, and B minor.
I started some work (I will probably finish tomorrow) on taking “A mighty Fortress” from the C to the key of D ( I picked D since it is just upping the notes by one) And it sounds correct.

The last miles of my biking this year just put up
I just entered the last 31.09 miles from my bike computer up here so my total miles for this year are 1045.10 for the year, so I guess for next year my goal should be 1200 miles.

Yes you read that right today is Reformation Day. This day in 1517 Luther posted his 95 Theses on the Church door in Wittenberg.
Also if you have children I hope they had a good and safe Halloween, I do feel sorry for the kids in the Pittsburgh region, since it rained tonight.
I also hope you all have a good All Saints day tomorrow, and a good All Souls day on the 2nd.

Today probably will be my last day biking to work this season
Well since the daylight change, and that the sun is setting so close to 5, and that it is getting colder, I think the biking season is over for me. I will probably just walk to work for the winter. I will put the last of my miles up later.
What a day
Well today was a bit long. After church today, we had our yearly Octoberfest, then after that we went to First Lutheran in Sharpsburgh. Finally after I and Joe got back we started to practice the Christmas Carols that we are planning to play on Dec 1. We have some work to do. He and I have to start to learn each others timing. here were some Carols that we just clicked on and it was almost as only one instrument was being played even though he was on the piano and I was on the Tin Whistle.
One thing that I am excited about the fact that I can play a few Christmas Carols. Back when I started learning the Tin Whistle, that I first mentioned here, in the post titled Chapters, I hoped that by December that I could play one or two, but I am look at about 14 Carols that I have been working on and have hope of really being played ok.
I will also post pictures of the Pittsburgh Reformation Celebration later on when I get them loaded on my computer.
