I hate windows

I really hate windows, today while tiring to get work done, I had to contend with 4 blue screen of death from XP, and then when that stopped, I find that Visual C++ crashes every time I try to compile something. I tried to compile other things and it continues to crash, I even tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. But it still crashes; I think I need to have the laptop rebuilt again. I find it very annoying that MS makes such inferior products. I am just glad that as I work I check my work into a CVS repository so it can be replicated to another computer easly.

Not to worry, Windblows Longhorn will eliminate blue screens – by replacing them with red screens. Like McDonnalds, you can be afraid of red again! Blue really should not be the real alarming color, but then again, due to its frequency, nobody is really surprized anymore. No word yet if Microsoft has any political bias on choice of color, especially with its recent political fiasco.

What can I say? That’s microsoft.
Me, being a first year informatition at ‘college’ have now ‘intense’ contact with win xp. (Before this year only used mac computers.)
And when you’re in an enviroment like this, you can regularly hear people who’s laptop need to be reinstalled or have crashed, etc.
Then you begin to wonder “what’s the average lifespan of an xp installation?”

    It can make you wonder.

ps: good thing that CVS repository.

  3. I know max that blue should not be alarming, I still remember that day when I had the BSOD screen saver going on my linux laptop, you walked and the first thing out of your mouth was, “Mike your computer crashed” I still find that one funny.

  4. Ya MacZilla, that cvs repository has saved me more then once, 2 windows rebuild from windows xp flaking out, and one time when the windows side was hacked into (the ironic part was it was right after I had gotten the latest MS “security” patches).
Since the laptop belongs to the company I work for, and I have a desktop at work and a good desktop at home, I will just take the laptop to the IT guys and have them just blast the drive and rebuild the computer from the ground up. I can still do my programming for work with out the laptop since I have the computers I can work with around.

I also remember your linux really crashing and you said to all of us “if it really crashed, then if I hit these keys, nothing will happen”. We all died laughing when your hit those keys and nothing happened. Classic.

  6. I will admit that, that was funny.
