Well tonight was “fun” (fire in the apartment just below the one I live in)
At around 8:30pm a fire broke out in the apartment below the one I live in. Good news is the damage appently is only in that apartment, the rest of the apartments have been deamed livable, so at 10:30pm we were able to return to our homes. My poor cat was scared by all the fire alarms going off, and was fighting me when I was putting him into his crate to take him out (I could not leave my cat in the apartment I had to make sure I saved him too)
After all the excitment and we were back in the apartment he went right to hiding (can not say I blame him) so I called to him telling him treats he came running (he loves his treats)and I was able via using treats to calm him down and he not hiding anymore.
I am also glad that when I left my apartment I forgot to lock the door and fully shut it, as my door was one of the few the fire department did not have to break to get in to make sure there were no other fires around the building. I understand why they have to break into the apartments, and I am just glad my door was unlocked, and not fully closed. But right now while they are boarding up the apartment just below me there is a police officer sitting in her car keeping a eye out on the building to make sure no one does anything they should not, so at lest there is still safty there with the police watching the building.
