Catherine Baker Knoll is a heartless person

I say Catherine Baker Knoll is a heartless person. Why would I say this? I say this because she crashed a funeral of a fallen Marine, to make an anti-war message. I have no problem with her being against the war and saying so, that is her constitutional right, but you do not crash a funeral, then say ” “our government” is against the war.” The family of the Marine wants her to apologize

“Our family deserves an apology,” Rhonda Goodrich said. “Here you have a soldier who was killed — dying for his country — in a church full of grieving family members and she shows up uninvited. It made a mockery of Joey’s death.”

I know next election I will not be voting for some one that does not respect the dead.

I couldn’t agree more. These brave soldiers are dying and although I don’t agree with the cause, I can speak for myself and other enlightened anti-war people I know that we do support the troops and want them home as soon as possible. We just don’t feel that their deaths are needed, that they would serve much better being alive and putting out fires in California, rebuilding houses in Florida and doing their general duties. Some people on the other side of the debate made a very good marketing link between anti-war and anti-soldier and while there always be Jane Fonda’s out there and I’m sure a handful of soldiers comit horrible crimes (hey under that level of stress, how much can you take?), for the most part, they serve well and have the best intentions, unlike the people that sent them there in the first place. Back to reality – interupting a funeral to say these things is very rude and frankly, I would have sued the governor or asked that she be charged with tresspassing. Very bad taste that’ll blow up in her face come election day. And that goes for any politician that exploits private grief for percieved political gain, like republicans in new york, visiting ground zero :] I still find it horrible sad that every single one of the flags and pins they wear say “made in china” on them. How horribly sad.
