A while back my dad was going to get rid of his old telescope as the cover on it would not come off. I had help from a friend to get it off, but it does come off now. All that was missing at that point was an eye piece for it, and I found some cheap no name Eyepiece on amazon for $30. And I found the power supply for my Xiegu ham radio has the same output that the telescope uses (12V positive tip) I tested the Eyepiece looking at some branches near by the condo this afternoon, while I can not test it at night yet, it is over casted here so no stars or moon to look at. But when the sky is clear I will download one of those night sky maps and try the whole thing out. The telescope is a Meade branded on, not sure on the moddel it is. I am thinking later on when it warms up I can get one of those Dual Band 2m/70cm handheld yagi antennas and connect it to my Yaesu VX-6R and see if I can try some satalite and/or ISS work. I will just have to look up what the dopler effect does to the send/recive freqs.
